Good friend and amazing designer Sofia Doglio has created her second collection and we were lucky enough to work on the shoot for it. A great day had by all, a chilled shoot - quite apt as the collection was based on the patterns of snowflakes! Check back here for images soon, but for now, here is a taster from the film camera.
Last week, I had the pleasure of working with photographer Noel McLaughlin with the amazing Brazilian Hilda from Premier. What started off as an inner city shoot, soon took us into Hackney Wick and the surrounding built up Olympic areas. It was a fun day, with a great team (again!) and I can't wait to see the results. Thanks to Kaori on make-up and also Inger for assisting me with the styling. Editorial will be up as soon as it's done!
A weekend in March, I set about to Sea Palling in Norfolk to shoot a short film with Nick Rutter. It was a great weekend with a lovely team and lovely food - always a bonus! The film is being edited now and so hopefully it should be out for all to see soon. Nick was a great director with amazing vision, see the rest of his work here, he has just been signed to Sonny London.
This project is close to my heart and I am extremely proud to know such talented and amazingly spirited souls. Alistair The Optimist is part of the campaign for MND Association. For those of you who don't know, MND stands for Motor-Neurone Disease and has made Alistair wheel-chair bound as his body gets weaker and weaker. There is no known cure for MND as yet, but the MND Association work on raising awareness and funds for this and also the families affected. Alistair's wish as part of the poster-boy for MNDA was to record an album with his old bandmates, and that he did. 'Alistair The Optimist' album was released earlier this year, 22% go to MNDA and the rest to Alistair and his family. With vocals from Kathryn Calder from Canadian band The New Pornographers and Jon Natchez's horns from uber cool Beirut, the songs are fantastic and I urge you all to buy the album and pass the message on. Watch the video for 'In The Wake', and also LA-based director Rich Lee has shot the music video for 'No-One'. More info on Alistair and the band on the website Alistair The Optimist. Please support - Coldplay have already Tweeted about it!
Good friend and amazingly talented photographer Olivia Estebanez has re-launched her website. Her work is refined and so polished, with a story behind every shoot. French-born, Olivia arrived on our shores 5 years ago and has been assisting all the top names and is making a mark with her own work. This girl will go far, so check her portfolio out at Olivia Estebanez.
Welcome to the New Year. I must admit I haven't been very good at keeping the website up to date in 2011. It has been a crazy year and many projects have happened without being noted. As a loose New Years Resolution, I am hoping to load my work up fully up to date and perhaps get on this Tumblr trend with thoughts, inspiration and general day-to-dayness with photos from my phone and my many cameras I have acquired over the years. More resolutions will follow, but for now, I will leave you with the wise words of George Eliot. Here's to Twenty Twelve.
When the days were hot earlier this year, I was assisting on the Espirit Christmas Campaign 2011 with Camille Bildault Waddington. Shot by the lovely Paul Wetherell, we spent a whole week prepping and shooting the campaign with many models coming in and out. The kids were especially entertaining and the pictures did indeed look great, so it was to my suprise I had forgotten all about it till I was on the tube and came across this massive banner. Then came all the buses with the advert plastered all over. What's your wish for Christmas?
Trying to fit in as many shoots before Christmas and this one was super fun! Wiley's new music video 'Boom Blast'. The cast were kitted out in Nike, including Wiley himself who were all complete stars for the day and not once complained about the amount of exercise we put them through, and boy did they sweat! Can't wait to see the results, always reminds me of Christmas morning when you shoot on green-screen, you never quite know what to expect! Here's a picture of the boys hard at work.
More recently, LookLab have asked me to be a part of their ever-growing network of 'Fashion Insiders', giving fashion tips to their members. It's a refreshing new idea from NYC and will cover all the fashion capitals of the world in time. It's fun to use and I am happy to be a part of this global styling team. Check out LookLab to see what it's all about, and their blog; LookBlab which have a couple of features on yours truly.
